Quality Testing Laboratory

It was established in September, 2009. It has analyzed 870 samples of natural (plants as well as animals) and synthetic products so far. It was recently updated and further equipped with AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrum), HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography), GC (Gas Chromatography), Spectrophotometer and other allied instruments for analysis, identification and quantification of natural and synthetic products along with its other sophisticated instruments like UV Spectrophotometer, Polari-meter, Inverted microscope, Muffle furnace, Rotavac, etc

Cultivators of medicinal plants often visit this laboratory from different districts viz. 24 Parganas (South & North), Howrah Hooghly, Murshidabad, Maldah, Midnapore (East & West), Birbhum. The laboratory acts as certifying agency for the quality of medicinal plants they grow. Analysis and estimation of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical prepared by the Self Help Groups (SHG) from different villages of South Bengal as well as Ashrama’s Ayurvedic Hospital are also regularly analyzed in it. Facilitation of research on ASU drugs is a prime objective of this centre. Research scholars are helped in their investigations that require sophisticated analytical techniques. They are actively supported in research studies that include Ph.D., M.Phil or dissertation programme. Many research scholars from 16 distinguished Universities and Research Institutes are benefited from it.
